2 Funerals in 2 weeks

Funerals can be hard. 2 Funerals can be harder. Rhett's Grandma Keppner was recently diagnosed with liver cancer and passed away June 19th 2011.

My grandpa had been having problems for quite some time. He had some small strokes, and kept falling. He thought he was dead and had cried for his wife Lola wondering where she was. She died last year in April. He has been wanting to die ever since she has. His body just didn't want to give up. A few weeks ago he had a blood test done and they showed that he was as healthy as a 50 year old in that way. By Sunday night June 26th 2011 his heart rate was getting too high and his oxygen was abnormal. My dad and Uncle Scott with my Aunt Patti present gave him a priesthood blessing asking for his body to let go of his spirit. Withing 10 to 15 mins he had passed away.

  1. It is always so hard to say goodbye to those we love, even when we know it is their time.

I love that they used the purple flowers in Rhett's grandma's flower arrangement. I saw the picture before I read the caption and thought how beautiful the arrangement was and how unlike others it was. I think it is those beautiful garden flowers!

I am sorry to hear about your grandpa, too. Love you.

  2. Oh, Faye! WOW! That's a lot to go through! I'm sure the Kleenex company is making a lot of money off of your family right now! ((HUGS)) I'm sorry to hear about your losses, but I know how much Grandpa Earl wanted to be with Grandma Lola. They were such a sweet couple, I know they are so happy to be together again! Hang in there!

  3. It was sad to lose them both. I did a lot better with the passing of my Grandpa then my Grandma with having gone threw hers. I was more relieved that he had gone. It was hard hearing about all his falls and crying out for my grandma. I kept thinking about the family reunion he was having in heaven. He was the last of his siblings to go. Thanks to the church I know that is what is going on up in heaven and is something that I will get to look forward to when I know my turn comes up.
